How do I save my credit card information to pay for obituaries?
If you place obituaries regularly through Column, you can save your credit or debit card as a payment method. This way, you don't have to enter your card information every time you pay an invoice in Column.
To save a card, ensure you're logged into the account that placed the obituary for which you're paying. If you're logged in, you should see a checkbox to "Save this card for all payments from {your name}." If you leave this box checked, your card will automatically save, meaning you can use it the next time you pay an invoice.
To pay with a saved card, you only have to click on your card and click "Pay invoice" to confirm.
Please note that Column stores all payment methods using our secure payments partner, Stripe. You can learn more about how Stripe handles security here.
Can I save more than one card?
Yes! You can save the information for multiple cards by entering the details and clicking "save this card."
How do I remove a saved card?
Please contact help@column.us and include the e-mail used to log into your Column account or a recent invoice number. A team member will remove the saved card from our payment processor.
My card payment isn't going through - can you help?
An error message will appear on the screen if your payment has not been processed. Please follow the instructions, contact your card issuer for assistance, or try another payment method. Our Support team is unable to override any error messages. Please note that some newspapers do not accept payment with AMEX. All accept VISA and Mastercard.
I don't see a card that should be saved.
Please ensure you are logged into your Column account. If you still do not see a saved card, please contact help@column.us and include the invoice number you are trying to pay.
