How do I join my funeral home's account on Column?
If someone from your organization has already registered for Column, you can join them when setting up your own account.
If you don't have a Column account yet...
Go to column.us/register, and in step 2 of registration, select the organization type that best matches your work.
Search for your organization in the search bar. If you find your organization, click on it to select, then click Continue. If you need access to multiple organizations, select each organization to send multiple requests. Alternatively, if you don't find your organization, you can create an organization instead.
Finish the registration process by providing your personal contact information.
Upon signing in, you'll be registered as an individual. You can check the status of your organization requests in your notifications. Once your request is approved, you'll be added to the organization and gain access to its notices and other documents.
If you already have a Column account...
Login to your Column account.
In the top-left corner of the page, click on the organization menu and click "Add Organization."
Select your occupation type — in this case, it would be funeral home.
Search for your organization in the search bar. If you find your organization, click on it and then submit your request.
What happens after you request to join an organization?
All admin members of the organization will receive emails and in-app notifications letting them know you've requested to join their organization. Until your request is approved, you won't have access to the organization's obituaries.
When your request is approved, you'll automatically get access to the organization and its documents. You'll see the organization name in the top-left corner of the Column app. If you were registered as an individual before, your notices will move into the organization, and other members will gain access to them.
Note: If you place obituaries before your requests are approved, they won't be connected to your organization until your request is approved, so we recommend waiting to place your first obituary.
