What is Column?

Column is a Public Benefit Corporation that builds technology to improve the public notice process for newspapers, local media, government officials, and legal services professionals.

Our category-leading software platform makes placing and publishing public notice ads in local newspapers easier. For advertisers, Column asks a series of basic questions and then uses those answers to auto-generate the ad's required legal text. For publishers, Column centralizes the intake of public notices from advertisers into a single dashboard and helps streamline the billing & affidavit process.

The company was founded by Jake Seaton, a former paperboy turned software engineer whose family owns and operates Seaton Media Group, a four-generation local news company across the Midwest. Learn more about our story here.
