Will my affidavit be sent to the courthouse?
Column does not automatically send affidavits to the courthouse. However, when placing your notice, you can choose to send the affidavit by mail and specify a courthouse address if needed.
In the Schedule Notice step, click "Send additional affidavit by mail" and provide a mailing address. You can add recipients and specify the number of copies for each. Please note that the fee will vary based on your shipping selection and number of copies. If your affidavit needs to be sent to the courthouse, provide the courthouse address here. More information on the delivery options of affidavits can be found here: Invoices and Affidavits — Digital vs. Mailed Delivery.
Column will mail your affidavit once the following conditions are met: you have paid the invoice for your notice, the final publication date has passed, and the affidavit has been uploaded into Column.
Note: If you're placing your notice in Kansas, you will also see an option to send the affidavit to our preset list of Kansas courthouses. If you choose to send the affidavit to a courthouse from this list, do not also click "Send additional affidavit by mail." Column will mail the affidavit directly to the specified courthouse.
