Do you provide hard copy and wet signature affidavits?
By default, Column sends affidavits via email and typically does not provide a wet-signature affidavit unless mandated by state law. If your notice requires one, it will be mailed to you without a request.
Can I request a mailed copy of a digital affidavit?
Yes! When placing your notice, you can opt to send a printed hard copy of the affidavit by mail. In the Schedule Notice step, click "Send additional affidavit by mail" and provide a mailing address. You can add recipients and specify the number of copies for each. If the affidavit needs to go to the courthouse, include that address. Once the newspaper uploads your affidavit to Column, the system will automatically mail the specified copies to the designated addresses.
I forgot to request a mailed copy when my notice was placed. Can I still get one mailed?
There's no need to wait for a mailed copy - you can download your affidavit from your Column account at any time and print as many copies as you need. If your notice is no longer listed under Active Notices, that means it's been moved to your Archived Notices. Click on the notice name to open the notice detail page and click "Download Notarized Affidavit."
