Why does Column need my e-edition? [Automated Affidavit Program]

Why does Column need my e-edition?

We use your paper’s e-edition to confirm that a notice ran in print. This confirmation step is a critical part of a compliant affidavit process. After we use the e-edition to verify that the notice ran in print, we can sign the affidavit as an agent on behalf of the publisher and notarize it with one of our in-house notaries.

How do I get my e-edition to Column?

When you start using automated affidavits, you will work with your onboarding specialist to determine the best way to send us e-editions. We offer two methods for uploading e-editions: FTP and manual.

  1. FTP (automatic). This method automatically sends us the e-editions of your paper, so you don’t need to do anything. If you want to use this method, you'll need to connect us with the person who handles sending e-editions to the printer. Talk with your Customer Success Manager to get started.

  2. In-App Upload (manual). You can upload the e-edition of your paper by clicking the "Affidavits" section in the header. Then click the blue button "Upload e-edition" on the right-hand side of the screen. You will then select the publication date and click or drag and drop to upload the e-edition. Alternatively, you can choose the publication date from the affidavit table and click upload e-edition.

My e-edition is missing, but it was sent already.

If the Affidavits table shows an e-edition as missing, try manually uploading it again. Depending on the volume of e-editions we receive at any given time, the uploaded file may take a few minutes to appear under the selected publication date. After it's uploaded, it will be added to theions to be scanned via OCR. If the file does not show up after uploading it, please contact Column Support at help@column.us.
