What are notice names?

Edited

Notice names are titles you assign when you place new notice orders. These names should be straightforward and recognizable to make keeping track of notices, invoices, and affidavits as easy as possible.

You'll be asked to provide a notice name in the Schedule Notice step of the placement process. A name is required before you can submit your notice.

If you completed a questionnaire to create your notice content or used a notice template, a notice name may be provided for you already. We recommend using the provided notice name, as the publisher will be most familiar with this default naming convention.

Notice Names FAQ

What should I name my notice?

A suitable notice name is short and straightforward. Choose a name that you will recognize and remember to make finding and referencing your notice as easy as possible.

When choosing a name, ask yourself:

  • What is the purpose of this notice?

  • Does this notice reference a specific event or case?

  • If I'm filing this notice on behalf of my customer/client, what is their name?

You do not need to include the newspaper name or publication dates in your Notice Name, as that information is already visible in your Notice Table and Notice Detail pages.

Notice names don't need to be unique, as each notice has a unique Notice ID. However, choosing a unique name might make it easier for you to keep track of similar notices.

Note: Notice names are for internal reference only. Your notice name will appear in your notice table, and on the proof, invoice, and affidavit for your notice. Your notice name will not appear in print when the newspaper publishes your notice.
