When will I be paid?

If you haven't already invoiced your customer, please review the article "How to create an invoice." The customer will be prompted to pay, and Column will handle the payment process.

Column will issue a payout once payment is received and the publisher uploads an affidavit, serving as an accountability process for both users (the customers, similarly, cannot download the affidavit unless they've paid). If the notice is paid before the affidavit is uploaded, the payout will be initiated the same day the affidavit is completed. If payment is received after the affidavit is completed, the payout will be initiated once the payment has cleared. It typically takes a few days for the payout to be processed. By default, you will receive payouts daily automatically. Payouts will be delivered via ACH directly to your bank account. You can view them under Organization Settings > Payouts.

You will receive the full amount you charge for public notices in your newspaper. 

Check the Activity Log on the Notice Detail page. You'll see an entry "payout initiated" around the same time as when the affidavit was uploaded if the payment was received before the affidavit was completed or when the payment was received after the affidavit was uploaded.

Then, confirm it was received on the Payout Report. Under Settings > My Organization > Payouts, you'll see a list of each payout transfer. You can check the next payout date following the "payout initiated" log and download the report to confirm the payout was included. Alternatively, you can download a report by month or year and search the CSV using the Notice ID to confirm when the payout was transferred.

We recommend double-checking the following:

• Has the customer paid?

• Is the affidavit completed?

• Is your bank account linked?

If the above is true, confirm if the customer paid you directly. If the customer pays the newspaper directly, there will be no payout.
