Do I need to submit a proof?
No, you do not. Column automatically generates a proof with an estimated cost, which the customer reviews before submitting the public notice. In other words, by the time you receive a public notice, the customer has already reviewed the proof.
The ad proof generated before the notice submission is called an Interim Ad Draft. Once the publisher has confirmed the notice and created the invoice, the ad proof becomes the Official Ad Proof. The image of the notice displayed on the ad proof is later included in the affidavit. As shown below, the title of the proof changes to let you know which version you're viewing:
Each time edits are made to the notice, the ad proof will update to include the changes made. This way, when a customer is notified of changes to their notice, they can view the updated proof in their Column account. If you change publication dates, a new invoice must be created to reflect the dates on the invoice. For more details, visit How Do I Create An Invoice.
If you ever wish to review a proof, you can do so by following these steps:
On your home page, click on the notice you would like to view.
Click View Proof.
To review previous versions of the Ad Proof, click on the Activity Log above the Preview pane. The activity log links to the original interim ad draft and each version of the ad proof after edits were made. However, the "View Proof" button only links to the current version of the ad proof.
Please refresh your page if edits to a notice are not reflected on the proof. If they still don't appear, contact Column Support for assistance: help@column.us
