Can I upload multiple files?

Edited

Some publishers allow you to upload multiple files when placing a notice. However, most publishers allow only one file.

If permitted by the publisher, the multiple files flow lets you request complex formatting for your notice. This is especially useful when combining images or text from separate documents. Here's everything you need to know about how to upload multiple files in Column.

How to tell if a publisher allows multiple files

  1. In the placement flow, arrive at the Create Notice step

  2. Click the file upload button to select your first file from your computer, or drag and drop

  3. If the publisher allows multiple files, the file upload will still be enabled after you upload the first file

  4. Use the file upload button to select and upload as many files as you need to create your notice

Submitting multiple files

If you upload multiple files, your notice will be submitted without formatting. This means you won't be able to edit the layout and content of your notice — instead, the files will be sent directly to the publisher. Once the publisher receives your notice, they can download the files and use them to format your notice.

When you submit multiple files, you'll likely want to let the publisher know how you want them formatted in the final publication. You can use the notes section to explain your formatting requirements and make any other special requests for your notice. This is not required to submit the notice.

Next steps

After submission, the publisher will review your notice and confirm receipt. Before creating an invoice and preparing your notice for publication, the publisher will need to upload a finalized version of your notice. You'll get an email letting you know they've edited your notice, and you can log in to Column to review the final format and download your proof, invoice, and affidavit once they become available.
