Can I receive my affidavit before paying?
By default, affidavits are released once payment is received. If your organization requires the affidavit (proof of publication) to process payment, please contact help@column.us, and we will coordinate with the publisher to allow access to the affidavit before payment. You must request access for each publication if you publish notices with multiple newspapers.
Please note that this exemption is typically only granted to government organizations. If you require confirmation that the notice has been published as scheduled, ensure your affidavit notifications are toggled on to receive an email notification when it is uploaded to your account. You can manage your notifications under Settings > My Account > Notification Settings. How do I change my notification preferences?
If you need a copy of the ad proof to confirm the notice content, you can download the ad proof from the Notice Detail page. Log in to your Column account and click on the Notice Name to open the Notice Detail page.
If you need a tearsheet or a copy of the newspaper or e-edition, check the Activity Log to see if the e-edition is linked. If the newspaper is part of Column's Automated Affidavit program, they will upload their e-editions for our team to verify the notices published as scheduled. If verified, the e-edition for each publication date will be linked to the Activity Log. Log in to your Column account, click the Notice Name to open the Notice Detail page, and click 'Activity' above the preview pane. Scroll down to see the activity log where the newspaper verified the notice published - the e-edition will be linked.
If no e-edition is linked on the Activity Log, the newspaper may not be part of the Automated Affidavit program, and we do not have access to its e-editions. We recommend contacting the newspaper directly for a copy, subscribing to the newspaper, or contacting your local library.
