9/28/22 Release: New design for notifications, invite members to organizations, update affidavits for active notices, and more

Edited

A Nifty New Design for Notifications: Enjoy more organized and informative in-app notifications!

It’s important to keep track of what’s happening in Column, whether you’re a publisher processing a notices or an advertiser paying an invoice or receiving an affidavit. Before, your in-app notifications were restricted to only four at a time, and they lacked important details. Now, when you click on the notifications bell in the top-right corner of Column, a panel will slide open showing all your notifications and team invites. Each notification will include important details such as the notice name and event description. We hope that this new design will help everyone better understand what actions they need to take on notices, as well as where their notices are in the publication lifecycle.

Easier Onboarding: Advertisers and publishers can invite members to their organizations

It hasn’t always been easy to invite members to organizations on Column, but we know how important it is to collaborate with your colleagues throughout the notice process. Now, both publishers and advertisers can invite anyone to join their organization, as long as they don’t already belong to an organization of the opposite type (i.e. publishers can’t add advertisers to their newspaper). Plus, invited members have greater flexibility when reviewing invitations: upon logging in, users can choose to accept, decline, or snooze organization invitations. As they say, the more the merrier — and it doesn’t cost anything to add more users to your Column organization!

Publishers Can Select Newspaper When Placing Notices!

We recently introduced a feature for duplicating notices — a quick and easy way to copy a notice or place an archived notice again. But for legals reps who manage notices across multiple papers, we learned that this feature would only be truly useful if publishers could select a different newspaper when placing or editing a notice.

Fear not, publishers — no longer must you go back and start the whole placement process from scratch. Newspaper selection has arrived for you, too.

  • Need to run the same notice in multiple newspapers? You can duplicate the first notice and select a different newspaper while placing its copy.

  • Did your customer place a notice in the wrong paper? You can duplicate their notice, select a different newspaper, and delete the original copy.

  • Did you click “Upload Notice” while viewing the wrong newspaper? You can pick a different newspaper before moving through the placement process.

Note: The select newspaper step was previously in beta. Now, this step is available for all publishers who have access to more than one organization on Column.

More Power for Publishers: Apply changes to all active notices when updating affidavit settings

Now when publishers update their affidavit settings, they can regenerate all active affidavits with the new settings. Before, publishers had to reach out to Column to make changes to their affidavit signatory, role, and notary commission expiration date — the settings required to create affidavits in Column. Now, publishers can update these settings, then choose to apply the changes to all notices currently awaiting affidavit upload, or only future notices (and those that don’t have invoices yet). We hope publishers will enjoy wasting less of their precious time reaching out to our Support team — though they’re lovely! — for help. Click here to learn how to set up your newspaper's affidavit settings.
