I've received a notice through Column. Now what? How do I process the notice?
When an advertiser places a notice with your newspaper, you will receive a notification via email and within Column. Click on the link within the email to view the notice.
Confirm that you have received the notice. This automatically notifies the advertiser that you have received their notice order.
Review the notice - you can edit notices as needed before creating an invoice. Further instructions are listed here, as well as how to format notices. We recommend checking the publication dates, the original file uploaded, and the notice type before making an invoice.
Next, you will invoice the customer. Select Create Invoice. The invoice is pre-filled with the system-generated pricing. In most cases, you will simply need to select Review & Submit without making any changes. Click here for instructions on creating an invoice.
Confirm the invoice. Check the box, and click Submit invoice. An email will be sent to the advertiser, prompting them to pay the invoice. Column handles payment, so you won't need to do anything else regarding payment for this notice.
Prepare to publish the notice. You can download your preferred file type individually or in bulk. Click here for additional instructions about downloading notices. If your publication has an integration with your ad-processing system, you don't need to download notice files from Column — they will sync automatically into your system.
You're all set until publication! Once the notice has been true in your paper, you can complete the last step: creating and sending an affidavit. Please review the help information here for complete instructions on submitting an affidavit.
In short, you must either use a Column-generated affidavit or upload a digital version of your traditional affidavit to Column.
You will receive payment for this notice once you've uploaded the digital affidavit. More information on that is here.
This notice will move from the "Active" tab on your home page to the "Archived" tab, and you can access the information at any point.
